Drivephaze Athletes Dominate BAYTAF Track Meet
|

Although this was not intended to be a showdown between USA vs
Jamaica, Rudy made his presence felt. Here Rudy drives hard on
the final turn to dominate the finish of the 400m sprint. Drivephaze
athletes were also in action in the 100m, 200m and 400m sprints.
Mario ran an impressive 47.2sec in the 400m, Will ran 11.8 in
the 100m, and Jeff ran 10.98sec in the 100m. The evening finished
with Jeff, Will, Mario, Wayne, and Rudy running the 200m sprint.
We thank the organizers of BAYTAF for a well run and fun meet.

NTC Classic - Erin jumps with injury and Kaleb runs PR in the
200m

The NTC Classic was short and sweet. Here we saw Erin, Will, Mario,
and Kaleb in action. Despite injury to her leg, Erin was able to
high jump, and also ran the 100m. She was in pain, but finished
strong. Will ran the 100m in a respectable time of 11.6sec. Also
Mario and Kaleb both ran the 200m. Kaleb ran a PR of 22.3sec and
Mario ran 21.1sec. Finally, we give thanks to the NTC for running
a great meet. Everyone appreciated the condensed schedule. |
It was an exciting and busy weekend for Drivephaze Athletes

This weekend Jeff, Will, Aaron, and Wayne competed in St. Petersburg,
FL at the 727 Track Club Spring Meet. Also this weekend, Mario traveled
to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational. In the 100m Jeff posted
11.4, while fighting a strong headwind. Aaron won both the 100m
and 200m events, and posted a PR of 101' in the Discus. Will posted
24.2 in the 200m and Wayne posted 30.23 in the 200m. At the Georgia
Tech Invitational, Mario posted a PR in the 400m hurdles of 51.24.

Mario Briscoe runs PR of 51.49 in the 400m Hurdles at Florida
Relays

Drivephaze athlete Mario Briscoe made his presence felt at the Florida
Relays in Gainesville. Mario posted a personal best time of 51.49sec
in the 400m Hurdles. The competition was strong and the race was
fast. However running in lane 7, Mario came out the blocks fast
and led the entire race to the final hurdle, where he was nipped
out for the win. Mario is coached by Jamaican Olympian, Kemel Thompson.
Mario is scheduled to compete at the Penn Relays, April 26-29. |

Drivephaze members
once again brought sunshine to the 2012 Bulls Invational at the
University of South Florida in Tampa.
After a sluggish meet schedule it was time for Jeff to burn up the
track in the 100m with a time of 11.02. Later in the evening Mario
opened his outdoor season in the 400m Hurdles with an impressive
time of 52.4sec. The evening ended with Jeff running the 200m in

Drivephaze starts the 2012 season with a Bang!

The 2012 Track and Field season got
under over the weekend around the country as there were a few early
indoor meets on the docket nation-wide.
The Drivephaze Track Club took part in in two meets in the state
of Minnesota. Three members were able to exceed the All-American
standard for events.
Saturday, at the Pre-season open(College/Open) in Mankato, Charles
Johnson took second place overall in the 60 meter hurdles with a
time of 8.38. Team member Will Crawford ran a time of 7.58 in the
60 meter dash. Both times best the All-American standard for those
events in the 40-44 age group.
Sunday, at the Charities Challenge indoor meet in Arden Hills, Jeff
Mack exceeded the All-American standard for the 60 meter dash for
the 35-39 age group with a time of 7.23. Anthony Harris took home
1st place in the 400 meter dash in the 40-44 age group with a time
of 59.00. The team also ran two relays(4x200 and 4x400) over the
weekend. |

Also on Sunday in Winter Haven, FL,
team member Wayne Redwood also got his 2012 season off to good start
by running 65 seconds in the 400 meter dash at the Florida Senior
Games Championships. |

Mid Season Conditioning
May 1 - May 31, 2013, Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:30pm
Members meet for conditioning training at King High School,
located at 6815 North 56th Street, Tampa, FL 33610
at the school's track & field complex.
Prospective track club members are welcome to come out and join in on the action.
